We are looking to fill the role of Associate Media Director, Integrated in a fast growing agency in Los Angeles! The position is responsible for developing and maintaining a strong knowledge of our clients’ business, directing media strategy and execution to help deliver against the clients’ goals and for the growth of the team’s supervisors and planner/buyers.


The Position:

  • Strong cross-channel planning skills with experience in television, radio, outdoor and digital
  • Proven experience in building successful client relationships based on a foundation of education and strategic collaboration on media campaigns to meet marketing objectives
  • Participate and lead in the development of specific program components such as presentations, media plans, media agreements, RFPs, client reporting, optimization strategies, etc.
  • Manage and develop a team of direct reports that includes supervisors and planner/buyers; responsible for maintaining the workload of the team and delegating tasks and responsibilities to ensure effective use of each person’s skills and supporting growth within the agency

·        Strong foundation in strategic and critical thinking, with an eye for finding ways to innovate and collaborate with teams to improve outputs

  • Manage client expectations and deliverables while overseeing the development and execution of all media efforts to ensure campaigns are delivering on strategy, budget and schedule
  • Confident and polished presentation skills; lead in-person and over the phone meetings with clients on a regular basis
  • Ability to manage timelines, projects and personnel within direct report and cross-functional teams
  • Strong team leadership and coaching skills; train and motivate team members and provide constructive performance check-ins
  • Flexible and able to keep up with a fast paced, constantly evolving environment
  • Experience with productive and positive vendor relationship management
  • Responsible for leading and managing multiple brands with limited oversight; self-motivation and organization are key given coordination with multiple internal and external teams
  • Ability to work with other agencies (creative, PR, etc.) collaboratively on behalf of clients
  • Confident in providing a POV internally and to the client
  • Proactively provides solutions when problems arise
  • Identify, understand and adopt new techniques and emerging technologies as relevant to clients’ strategies
  • Identify and grow business opportunities within current and new clients
  • Lead the creation and negotiation of client contracts and proposals and manage account profitability


The ideal person

  • Proven success leading and managing a team as well as the ability to manage and develop junior staff
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide constructive feedback, guidance and solutions
  • Strong client service skills and comfortable building and maintaining C-level relationships
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills
  • A complete knowledge of integrated marketing concepts and practices
  • Solid understanding and use of ad-managing technologies and tools (Media Ocean – Prisma and Lumina, Datorama, Double Click – DBM and DCM, GA, Adwords and GTM)
  • Google Certified is a plus
  • Experience analyzing complex data, market research and formulating actionable plans
  • Working knowledge of industry research tools such as Nielsen, Prime Lingo, SQAD and other media software
  • Experience buying and planning all online and offline media tactics, including but not limited to Local TV, Linear and Connected TV, Radio (terrestrial and streaming), OOH, Digital, SEM,
  • Familiarity with emerging technology and current knowledge of trends and innovations
  • Willing to dig in and work both above and below job title


The Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing or communications
  • 5+ years with progressive levels of responsibility and working in media planning, buying and management
  • Able to think strategically, look at the big picture and analyze data available to identify solutions to problems/challenges
  • Management experience of three or more direct reports; proven track record in building efficient and effective team workflow and success
  • Build great relationships with clients, vendors, and reps; have a history negotiating to get the job done right and track record of success in media
  • Understand the clients’ business and have a knack for sharing complicated ideas in a simple, understandable way
