Best 2015 Marketing Campaigns

Dove – Choose Beautiful

Dove’s Choose Beautiful campaign was designed around the idea of real beauty and what it means to be beautiful.  This emotional YouTube campaign encouraged the importance of natural beauty.

What makes this campaign so effective?

The Dove campaign connected with the audience’s emotions and made them think about what door they would have chosen, as well as the role beauty standards play in society.  Although the campaign didn’t advertise the product, it did raise brand awareness.  It is important to remember that not all advertising campaigns need to sell your product.  Brands need to connect with their audience and invoking emotion is one way of the best ways to relate in a positive way.

Always – #LikeAGirl

Always ran a campaign this year that showed the differences in confidence between young girls and adult women.

What makes this campaign so effective?

Again, Always is invoking emotions and making the audience think about why girls tend to lose confidence around puberty.  The Ad asks a powerful question and gets people thinking and involved.  They are still reaching their target audience and the product is inadvertently marketed without being “salesy.”

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) – The Last Selfie

The World Wildlife Fund works to bring awareness to animal populations that are at risk of going extinct, and their conservation efforts.  This advertising campaign used Snapchat to show that just as Snapchat photos disappear in 10 seconds, animals around the world are also in danger of disappearing.

What makes this campaign so effective?

This campaign stands out because of the imagery and emotions.  They also included a hashtag that helped bring the campaign to other social media platforms.  Don’t be afraid to get creative with your marketing campaigns.  Including hashtags can help brand your company and your marketing campaign.
