Bloom Ads Wins Over Smart & Final Stores

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Bloom Ads, Inc., the full service, multi-channel media strategy and marketing agency, has won the media agency of record contract for Smart & Final Stores LLC. Bloom Ads has the proven expertise in customized marketing programs to position Smart & Final, a pioneering brand founded in California 145 years ago, as the preferred grocer for households, businesses and nonprofits in the Southwest.

The cornerstone of today's Smart & Final stores was established in 1871, and the company grew to become the combined legacy of three successful grocery businesses in early Los Angeles, ultimately named for two founders, Jim Smart and Hildane Final. There are now 248 Smart & Final and Smart & Final Extra! stores in California, Arizona and Nevada, and an impressive growth plan underway.

Smart & Final was recently named "West Retailer of the Year" by the Shelby Report. Known for many years as "the smaller, faster, warehouse store," where chefs, culinary professionals and other businesses could buy large quantities at warehouse prices, Smart & Final has broadened its offerings over the years through its Smart & Final Extra! banner. These locations include enhanced variety and smaller, convenient packages along with the low prices of a discount broker, making them ideal for family shopping while still providing thousands of club-size items.

"As a fellow Los Angeles-based company, we look forward to this partnership with Bloom Ads to elevate and continue to position the Smart & Final brand as a quality, value-oriented and convenient offering for households and businesses alike," said Eleanor Hong, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, Smart & Final Stores LLC.

"The Bloom Ads team is delighted to be working with Smart & Final Stores LLC, a true California 'heritage' brand. The company's rich history and reputation for quality give us wonderful tools to weave the brand story and customer message into our media plans," said Kathe Bloom, President and CEO, Bloom Ads. "Our agreement with Smart & Final adds to a year of terrific growth for our company, and to a roster of clients of which we are extremely proud."

Bloom Ads recently added 99 Cents Only Stores, a chain of 384 discount stores in California, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada, to the expanding client list. Additionally, Bloom Ads was named One of The Top 20 Advertising Agencies in Los Angeles by www.expertise.com

New Hollywood Park Casino Set to Open Fall 2016

First of Numerous Establishments to Open as Part of Bourgeoning Inglewood Community

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (July 8, 2016) – Hollywood Park Casino Company announced today that the new Cary Grant Pavilion at Hollywood Park Casino (HPC) will open this Fall. The grand opening of HPC will usher in the city’s aura of glamour and luxury as the first of numerous businesses included as part of the developing retail district in the Inglewood Community.

Sitting on nearly 11 acres in a newly emerging renaissance district and directly facing the expanded Century Boulevard, the new HPC location will be just steps from the former location. As part of an updated art and social community minutes from Downtown Los Angeles and three miles away from Los Angeles International Airport, HPC sets the latest standard for Westside gambling.

“While the complex undergoes a physical overhaul, the staff at Hollywood Park is committed to making the transition as smooth as possible,” said Hollywood Park Casino General Manager Deven Kumar. “HPC is situated both to serve its current player base and draw in a new generation of gamers. The new casino will still have our favorite player perks, like Blackjack and Baccarat, as well as our daily no-limit Texas Hold’em tournaments, but the new property is going to be bigger and better than ever.”

Designed by San Diego-based JCJ Architecture, the new casino will span 110,000 square feet and include the best amenities in gaming and technology. HPC will set a winning stage with 125 card game tables, simulcast wagering, a sports bar and restaurant (Century Bar & Grill), intimate lounge, gourmet café, and a 20 percent increase in high limit play while including traditionally historic elements of HPC.

“This new casino was also designed with luxury and convenience in mind,” said Kumar. “The new property will engage the art and social communities featuring global artists’ work throughout. Signature to Southern California, palm trees iconography will line the drive as guests pull into valet park while a new parking structure are some of the included and updated amenities for incoming guests. Visitors will feel very safe, while enjoying themselves in beautiful surroundings.”

The new HPC property broke ground in July 2015 and is set to host grand opening events beginning Fall 2016.

“This is the first step in our revitalization plan,” said Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts. “HPC and our other projects will breathe new life into our great city. Along with the future home of the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, HPC and the many new businesses coming to Inglewood will bring with them new jobs, increased revenue and beautiful new properties for residents and visitors to enjoy, while not using any tax dollars or public funding for any of the construction.”

With innovative and forward-thinking initiatives, Hollywood Park Casino is poised to become a leader in the California gaming industry; being adjacent to the City of Champions Revitalization project is simply an added bonus.

HPC has retained a roster of top agencies to support the new casino: Bloom Ads, media buying agency of record (AOR); BRANDed Management, PR AOR; SixteenFifty Creative Intelligence, creative AOR.

Bloom Ads: Building Local Relevance with Personalized Media Plans

March 18, 2015 | Contributed by: Joe Morsello – Local Search Insider

Bloom Ads, Inc. is a fully integrated media planning and buying agency headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Here is the company’s description taken from its website:

Our obsession with media is your gain. Our team will work with you every step of the way in order to create and implement an effective strategy that is tailored to your needs and delivers results – ROI is at the forefront of every ad campaign.
We caught up with Christina Swain, VP, strategy and development at Bloom Ads, to learn more:

What local problem(s) does Bloom Ads solve? How?

Today’s audiences are platform-agnostic, jumping from place to place, consuming content everywhere. No matter where they are, they expect to find our advertisers. In print, online, broadcast or out-of-home, we optimize our clients’ media mix to provide complete solutions for each individual campaign.

What makes Bloom Ads innovative?

Our non-biased, innovative approach to media is our key differentiator. Each client’s media plans are custom crafted to deliver on their individual KPIs. No two plans are ever the same.

How does Bloom Ads make the local space better for advertisers and/or consumers?

We identify unique local media tactics that are relevant to the communities in which we serve and incorporate those tactics into our media plans. Our ad campaigns typically include grass roots efforts to drive sales, create engagement and build brand for our partners.

What is next in local?

Programmatic. We use it today nationally. The next natural step is to see programmatic buying on a local level.

Let's Flip Again?

Los Angeles Business Journal – June 16 – 22, 2014

As the real estate market booms in Los Angeles, investors of all sizes, from individuals to corporations, are buying properties, fixing them up and selling them for profit – a return to a trend of a decade ago.
So the Business Journal asks:

Would you get involved in house flipping?

ANDY STERN
Real Estate Agent – Coldwell Banker

I have seen people create value by purchasing a home, improving it and reselling it at a profit. I am selling two properties I own now that I fixed up. I enjoy the process and making the money.

MARC FELDMAN
Partner – DPL Asset Management/Korea Israel Life Science Fund

I am not inclined in becoming involved in home flipping simply because I am just too busy focusing on my business. I also do not have a real firm grasp on this market, thus should stay away.

DON POPKES
Principal – One Tuscany-Renovation + Realty

Ten years ago, as a private banker, tried my first flip on a low income property next to USC. Ten years later have developed the “passion” into a full-fledged firm working with private investors and home owners alike helping navigate the process with both an investors and an artistic eye.

KATHE BLOOM
Chief Executive Officer – Bloom Ads Inc.

While not for everyone, home flipping has actually been an exciting hobby for both myself and my business partner Lisa Nichols Jell. The caveat for us is that we and our families live in these “flips” during the remodel process. Between advertising and home flipping our lives are never boring. I am about to embark on my fourth flip. Fingers crossed!

SEAN ROSSALL
Vice President – Cerrell Associates

Home flipping has a lot of potential upsides. It’s clearly not for everyone and there are a lot of risks, but with a smart plan and an eye to budget it can be a solid investment.
